Help give elders homes where they can live in safety and comfort

 

In line with the Eden Alternative, we are committed to creating safe and enabling living environments where elders can flourish. But, with ageing buildings and infrastructure – we need to invest in maintenance and continuous replacement of equipment in daily use.

In the last year alone, between April 2023 and March 2024, our dedicated Facilities Management Department completed 34 home projects and renovated 105 units at Tafta.

Please consider making a contribution towards these ongoing projects, which directly impact on the wellbeing of our elders. Monthly gifts are the most helpful in ensuring they can always count on safe, well maintained and functioning home.

SECURITY

The safety of vulnerable elders in our care is of paramount importance. We have identified homes that require the installation/upgrade of their security systems to continue to ensure the safety of residents in their homes.

EQUIPMENT

Washing machines and dryers support residents to maintain an independent lifestyle and having the means to still carry out some of their daily tasks. This ensures they have clean clothing and linen in their homes.

We also need to replace geysers across our homes to ensure a constant and safe supply of hot water for kitchens, baths and showers.

MAINTENANCE

With the recent extreme weather conditions we are experiencing together with ageing infrastructure; our buildings are in need of structural repairs, remedial work and maintenance towards waterproofing and effective drainage systems (this includes gutter, fascia boards replacements and bird proofing).
