Elders’ safety prioritised with new fencing at Tafta Park
Huge thanks to our wonderful donors and partners who rallied to help after a frightening home invasion at Tafta Park. Criminals cut through the perimeter fencing to gain access to the complex, leaving vulnerable residents badly shaken.
Within a matter of weeks, fence panels, fasteners and cement were delivered to the village and work began on stripping away the old fence. Following consultations with experts, we chose black ClearVu fencing – a high-security welded wire mesh anti-climb, anti-cut system, topped with spikes for added safety. It’s designed for maximum protection without obstructing views for security cameras.
Work is expected to be completed by mid November.
Residents could not be more grateful. “Brilliant efficient work … very professional” said Pam and Marion, while Frank commented, “The fence looks great!”
Thank you for helping to make this upgrade possible … and for caring about the safety and wellbeing of our elders. Your generosity and kindness are so much a part of everything we achieve for older people in Durban.
