You must be:
• Over the age of 60
• Have a minimum income of a State Pension
At some of our residences, preference may be given to older persons with limited income who are frail or in dire need.
To apply for any of our accommodation options, please complete the Intake Form. Please note that many of our Homes have waiting lists and urgent cases may be given preference. People under the age of 60 may not apply to be put on the waiting list.
Your application will be screened and an interview arranged. If successful, you will be placed on the waiting list (if applicable) for the accommodation required.
You can check the progress of your application by logging into your account at https://tafta.co.za/application
With the Life Rights scheme, you buy the right to live in a specific unit for the rest of your life.
Under the agreement, the property never becomes yours and cannot be bequeathed to an heir in your Will. Tafta remains the sole owner of the unit and carries the responsibility for maintenance and the upkeep of the building or complex and its facilities. This ensures that the frail care and communal facilities will be kept operational and maintained at a high standard.
On termination of the Life Right, the purchaser will receive 100% of the purchase price or 80% of the resale price – whichever is the lesser.
Apart from peace of mind and security, buying through the scheme has other advantages:
• No transfer duty
• No VAT payable
• No registration fees
• Stable monthly levies
