Tafta showcases the new VREP platform at the Reside Summit in Johannesburg
On 20 and 21 May, the Tafta team was excited to be among the exhibitors at the Reside Summit at the Sandton Convention Centre.
Under the theme “Transforming Spaces, Enriching Lives,” the summit aimed to promote innovative strategies, industry trends, and collaborative opportunities that contribute to the growth and enhancement of the residential sector.
At the Tafta stand, attendees were able to experience a free live demo of the new Virtual Reality Empathy Platform, designed to support and enhance care services for older persons. Of particular interest to those in the aged care, health care and retirement living sectors, VREP is a fantastic example of how technology can make care simpler, smarter, and more person-centred.
Ageing is not something to fear or ignore – it’s something we all need to understand. Using virtual reality and sensory filters, VREP LifeLens allows users to experience the impact of visual and sensory loss, often associated with dementia and ageing.
Families, healthcare and care providers, and those designing environments are immersed into a world that builds empathy and understanding around the daily challenges faced by older persons. The insight gained can help shape more inclusive services, living spaces and public environments – ultimately enhancing quality of life in the real world.
