Remember moms with some love this Mother’s Day

On Sunday May 8, moms around the country will be showered with gifts for Mother’s Day. Flowers and chocolates. Lunch out at a restaurant.  Or perhaps just a card or phone call to let them know they’re loved and appreciated.

Sadly, this won’t be the case with many of the elderly moms and grannies at Tafta, waiting for a visit or a phone call that never comes.

Some have lost touch completely with their children. Others have known the heartache of losing a son or daughter. Whatever the circumstances, they’ll try to hide the hurt of feeling left out and forgotten.

But if you will join in with other wonderful Tafta supporters, we’ll make sure that mothers in our Homes feel special this Mother’s Day.

Your donation of R250 could provide an older mum or granny with a week’s worth of tasty nutritious meals. Or provide a toiletry pack (soap, toothpaste, shampoo, body lotion, deodorant and a new facecloth). Hardly traditional Mother’s Day gifts, we know, but much-needed and greatly appreciated necessities when you’re struggling to make ends meet on a small pension.

So please will you use the form alongside to send your gift now? You can give in honour of your own mom, or in her memory, if she is no longer with you. Add a special message in the space provided and we’ll share it on our Facebook page this Sunday (first 100 messages only.)

Any amount you can spare makes a difference to our elders … and shows you really care about and remember these special ladies. Happy Mother’s Day!
