Elders feel the love this Valentine’s Day
Our elders were so spoilt this Valentine’s Day, with special events at several homes, and visitors popping in with treats to make sure no one felt left out.
Celebrations included teas, lunches, dinners and dances. But the most heartwarming activity was our residents paying a visit to Wentworth Hospital to spread some love of their own. They handed out sandwiches to waiting outpatients. It feels so good to ‘give back’!

Another highlight was the visit to Tafta on Ridge by the prefects of Northwood School, who serenaded residents with love songs. Not only were they entertained, our elders were so impressed by the boys’ attitude of respect and compassion. Thank you to these superb young men for making our elders’ day.
And let’s not forget the therapy dogs from Angel Paws, who also visited Tafta on Ridge to spread some love this Valentine’s month.
We asked our elders, “What makes you feel loved?” Receiving support, being surrounded by good people, maintaining independence and learning new skills all help make our elders feel cherished.
