Golf Day gratitude from Tafta

Our 2026 Corporate Golf Day on Friday, 19 June at Umhlali Country Club, was a tremendous success – bringing together businesses, community partners, sponsors and supporters in aid of a cause that continues to impact thousands of older persons across South Africa.

The event was held in support of TEAL (Tafta’s Elder Abuse Line), a dedicated support service that provides confidential counselling, guidance, referrals and assistance to older persons experiencing abuse, neglect and exploitation. To date, the service has received more than 5,144 calls, 622 email referrals and 658 verbal referrals. These calls for help resulted in vulnerable individuals being able to access the support and intervention they need.

Braving the cold to participate in Tafta’s Golf Day

Despite chilly weather conditions and traffic challenges experienced on the day, our golfers arrived in high spirits to enjoy a day of networking, friendly competition and meaningful community impact. Thanks to their participation, we raised enough funds to sustain TEAL operating costs for 3 months.

Adding to the fun on the day was a sports memorabilia auction, in partnership with Pro Fans Auctioneers, who provided sought-after items including signed sporting merchandise, exclusive golf experiences and collector’s items.
