Celebrating longevity in March
During March, we focused on longevity and what it means for our elders. Health, both physical and financial, is key to enjoying a long life. We encouraged our elders to embrace the journey of ageing by learning to adapt to physical changes and maintain overall well-being.
Residents from various Tafta buildings converged on the Bellair Pool for a fun, competitive swimming gala. Swimming is one of the best exercises for older people, since there is no risk of falling or putting undue pressure on joints. Even gentle swimming is a good cardio workout. And when you add fun and friendly competition, it all adds up to a great day out!
We had ball games, water exercises and a hoola-hoop challenge, with enthusiastic spectators cheering on the swimmers. Well done to all who participated or supported the swimmers. Special thanks to Avbob for their sponsorship.
Technology was also in focus. Residents learned useful mobile phone tips to help them stay connected in today’s digital world. We also prioritised safety, providing essential Health and Safety training for our volunteers, committee members, and marshalls to ensure they are well-prepared for emergencies.
Through these initiatives, Tafta continues to empower elders with knowledge and skills to live healthier, more independent lives.
