This year, Tafta celebrates 67 years of providing affordable care and support to older people in our community.
Drawing inspiration from Nelson Mandela’s 67 years spent in service to others, we are urging South Africans to give back to older people who shaped our world. “We See You and We Are Here to Serve” is the new theme around our ongoing Sawubona Campaign. Corporates and teams of individuals are invited to get involved by participating in our upcoming Golf Day Fundraiser.
Tee off for a purpose on Thursday, 8 May 2025, at the stunning Cotswold Downs Golf & Country Estate. This exciting event will raise funds for TAFTA’s Meal Delivery Service, ensuring older persons in need continue to receive nutritious cooked meals.
Why Your Support Matters
“With people living longer, Tafta’s Meal Delivery Service provides a way for older people to remain independent while ensuring adequate nutrition,” explains Tafta CEO, Femada Shamam. “In 2024, we delivered 11 561 freshly cooked meals to Durban elders who find cooking for themselves difficult or unaffordable.”
How You Can Get Involved
- Enter a 4-ball team for just R5000 – including green fees, halfway meals, dinner, a prize-giving event, and a direct contribution to the meal delivery initiative.
- Sponsor a tee for R1800 – a fantastic opportunity to network and promote your brand while supporting a worthy cause.
- Donate a prize to add to the success of the day.
“As we mark 67 years of advocating for older people and shaping an age-friendly world, we hope our community will step up and turn social responsibility into action, by participating in the Golf Day. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of older people,” said Shamam.
