Thank you for being an angel in disguise

Sometimes you have to make an immediate decision to help … even when you’re not quite sure how you’ll manage it. That’s what happened recently when we learned about Mrs S, who was left helpless and alone after suffering a stroke and being abandoned by her sons.

She had no income other than a government Old Age Grant. And you won’t be surprised to hear that R2 310  doesn’t come close to the real cost of providing shelter, bedding, laundry food and 24-hour nursing care. But we arranged for her to be admitted to one of our frail care units anyway.  Because, how could we leave this 73-year-old woman needing assistance to struggle along on her own?

Fortunately, we have unshakable faith in our generous supporters. And you didn’t disappoint. Thanks to your unfailing kindness, we’re able to provide Mrs S, not only with everything she needs – but also with companionship and love. She may be frail and unwell. But she can still live a meaningful life. Here at Tafta – thanks to friends like you – she’ll be safe and comfortable for the rest of her life.

Thank you so much to all those generous people and businesses who supported our ‘Guardian Angels’ programme with a generous donation … enabling us to watch over elders like Mrs S. Your kindness and concern make all the difference. And you give all of us at Tafta the reassurance that we can always depend on our caring community for support when we need it most.

May you be richly rewarded for your kindness towards elders in need.
